PHOTOGRAPHER JESSE DITTMAR
My first photography teacher always called me Dittmar. I owe him a lot for nurturing my curiosity and drive. I love music, I love people, and I love photography. I bring that to my portraiture and try to humanize our most renowned cultural figures and treat some less famous folks like the rock stars they can be. My work has been published by the New York Times, The Washington Post, The New Yorker, People, Vanity Fair, and Rolling Stone. I have worked with brands like Apple, Hulu, Levi's, Gap, HBO, Chobani, and PNC Bank. I like to use film. I shoot it on my used Hasselblad that I bought at seventeen with a push from my professor. I've published two books of portraits using that camera with the stories behind them. When you see a picture of mine, I hope you feel like you're standing in front of the person, just like I was.
